Meet the Pastor

Pastor Dave Barna and his family moved to Platteville in February of 1992. Under his leadership, the church has seen tremendous growth and the addition of outreach ministries, namely the bus ministry and the King's Kids ministry.

Pastor Barna was raised a Roman Catholic in South Bend, Indiana, and was saved at the age of 18. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended Liberty Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated in 1982.

After serving as an assistant pastor in Indiana and Tennessee, Pastor Barna got the burden from God to become a senior pastor. While waiting for the Lord to lead Him, he and his family began to wait on the Lord at First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, under the leadership of Pastor Jack Hyles. While there, both Pastor and Mrs. Barna were active in the soul winning ministries of the church, and both were honored with awards for their accomplishments.

Pastor and Vicki have 3 children: Valerie is married to Josh Beshea, the Assistant Pastor; Michael, his wife Miriam and family serve together in our bus ministry; and Jonathan is currently a student at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida.
